1920 - 1945

Simon Hegele founds a furniture transport company in Karlsruhe. Starting with a wagon and two horses, he undertakes domestic removals. The company expands and by the year 1939 has acquired a fleet of vehicles.

1946 - 1960

The freight forwarding firm, which practically only exists on paper, is taken over by his widow together with the children Erna, Karl and Kurt, who build up the company once more. Besides carrying out removals, the company expands its activities to include the delivery of dairy products to the retail trade. The company continues to be based in Karlsruhe, with its administrative offices in Baumeisterstrasse and haulage operations based in Breite Strasse.

1960 - 1987

The start of the sixties sees the start of high-tech transport operations, as a supplement to the removals business. In 1974 Helene Hegele dies; in 1983 Karl Hegele retires from the company on grounds of age. Kurt Hegele continues to give the company his active support until his death in 1997. Dieter Hegele, who has been working for the company since 1964, becomes a partner in 1985. Shortly afterwards Siegfried Kiefer joins, in succession to his mother Erna. This completes the second change of generation since the foundation of the company. Dieter Hegele and Siegfried Kiefer now launch a phase of reorganisation and modernisation.
